Have you found that Twitter actually helps your business at all (literally makes you money)?

...and if so, what ways have you found to be the most profitable?

I found it most profitable when I engage with relevant users. I think it is highly beneficial for location based and niche businesses. For worldwide businesses the effect is somewhat low. Or at least that's how I feel after working with some clients

Yes, Twitter and other social networking sites as well! We use them to increase views on Hub Pages, blogs and web sites. Just "tweet" or "like" our hubs and our friends can enjoy reading what we've written. We can also use these sites to promote our product and information about our business. I wrote a hub about making money with Facebook and Twitter not long ago. Hope you will check it out.

Other than paid endorsements or driving traffic to a site you own with advertising or an affiliate site, I don't see how you could make money off of Twitter.
