If you're new to internet marketing and are about to start marketing a new product then you need a solid plan set out for your launch to be successful.

I'm going to show you how to prime the market and two great ways to get a ton of sales right out of the gate.

By the end of this article you will know exactly how to market a product online.

Prime the Market

If you're new to the marketing world online then no one really knows you or what you have to offer, unless of course you're already successful with offline marketing. So you need to build up a following so that people trust you and would want to buy from you. This will kind of be like your fan club that is waiting for you to release the next big thing.

So what you'll want to do is set up a site that talks a little bit about your target niche; the area that your product belongs in. Blogs are always a good choice, because you can easily update them with new content.

Then off to the side you want to have a little opt in box where you coax them with some kind of freebie to get them to sign up to your newsletter. You can give them a free report in your niche or just straight up tell them that you're going to give away a lot of good content in your newsletter so it'd be in their best interest to sign up.

And then all you do is email that list, as often as you'd like, with content about your niche and then keep mentioning the product that you're going to release soon. So if you want to email every day you could actually write on a topic and then put just the basic info on your blog (to help draw in readers) and then the real advanced info can go in your newsletter. That way you're always getting more traffic to your site and you're feeding your email list with good information as well as a reminder that you have a product coming out. This is going to make people trust you (through the information you give them), like you (because you're giving it all away for free) and then they're going to be hyped up for your new product (because you keep telling them about it and they can't buy it yet).

How to Pull In Your First Sales

Now that you have tons of people waiting to get their hands on your product this is how to market a product to them. You want to announce that you're going to hold a webinar or Teleseminar where you're going to give away some kind of advanced information. You can interview someone else in your field or you'll just be the one talking, but the topic has to relate to your product.

You hook them in with an awesome amount of free information but you want to keep mentioning that you have something for them at the end of the seminar so that they keep listening. Then at the very end you tell them that you're finally launching your product and they get it first at an extremely discounted price along with a possible bonus gift (just for the people watching or listening to the seminar).

The content of your seminar will solve some kind of problem but your product will seal the deal and completely resolve their issues or some kind of need they have. That's why so many people lead in with a sentence like, "If you thought the information you gained from this seminar was good then you're going to love this...". And they will love it! They've been waiting for this product, you lead them into the sales pitch with even more free content and then you're giving it to them for a discount with a bonus gift... Yeah, you'll make a lot of sales!

How to Keep the Sales Coming In

But what about the people who signed up for the webinar or Teleseminar and forgot about it? Or the people who didn't sign up at all? Well, you can do two things which will help you draw in some more sales right off the bat.

Your first option is to have a replay up for a limited time for people who missed out. All this requires you to do is put up the audio or video on a webpage and then direct them to it. Then people have maybe a week or so to check out what they missed and then they still see your sales pitch at the end. You can even have a link or a banner ad right below the player for them to click once they get to that point in the seminar.

And another option you have is to have an early bird special on your product for the first week or so to help draw in sales from any and everyone that sees the offer. All you have to do is offer it at a discount for a limited time and people will snatch it up like hotcakes! Customers love getting hooked up with deals and they don't want to miss out on it. So mention on the page, and in emails to your list, when the price is going to be raised. You'll be surprised how many people buy it on the last day of the early bird special!

These are proven methods for building a successful launch. So prime the market, hold a seminar of some sort and then have an early bird special. Now you know how to market a product online just like the professionals do.
