How to Get Higher Open Rates and Clickthroughs for Your Email Marketing Campaign

If you want to run a successful email marketing campaign then you need people to actually open your emails and to click the links that you provide.

When you "brand" your emails and get joint venture partners you boost your exposure and get people to trust you a lot more.

By implementing these three steps you'll pull in more profit than you know what to do with.

"Brand" Your Email Marketing Campaign

When you're starting out, people don't really know you or your products so they're not going to trust you right away. And if you want someone to read your emails, let alone buy something from you, then you NEED them to trust you. One good way to get someone to trust you is to mention people and brand names that they already know and trust.

If you're selling a similar product or service that a well-known company already offers then mention their brand name in your email subject. If you say something like "X Product is 10 Times Better than an iPod and here's why..." you're going to get a lot of people to open that email. A lot of people on your list might already own an iPod and they want to see why your product is better. Then all you have to do is give a couple bullet points that show why it's better and then give them a link to your product. But you don't even have to have your own products to make this work.

You can be an affiliate for really well-known products which will make people trust buying from you. If you offer someone quality products that they already trust through your email marketing campaign then it'll be a lot easier for you to sell other products alongside them. So if you promote books that Oprah just talked about, and people are use to opening your emails, you can easily pop in an email about your own book and pull in a bunch of sales because people trust buying from you. But in reality, you don't have to rely on just your email list.

"Borrow" an Email List

If you've been in contact with some "gurus" in your field for a while then it might not hurt to ask them if they'd be interested in partnering up with you. But you need to realize that most of these people get offers like this all the time, so you need to really sweeten the deal for them. So what you'll want to do is introduce them to your product, tell them what it's all about and mention that you'll give them a huge commission percentage if they'll promote your product on their list. You might get told no a lot, but don't give up!

When you do snag a good JV partner, you want to be sure that the page you have them link to in the email to their list has a sign up form on it. That way whenever their list sees the email, opens it, clicks the link and sees your page they also have the option to join YOUR list. So in a sense, you're borrowing from their list in exchange for a commission.

People already trust this "guru" and have no problem opening emails from them. And the fact that they talked about your product, mentioned your name and put out an email for you makes you seem pretty legit in their eyes. So when they make it to your email list they'll remember that their favorite guru mentioned you or your product and they'll open more of your emails. There's one more way you can help out your partners and increase your open rates and clickthroughs.

Interview a "Guru"

If you really want to spark some life into the people on your email list then you should interview some well-known gurus in your field. These have to be big name people with products that everyone, who pays attention to your field of work, has heard of already. You can do this live or you can record a phone interview with them and then you'll give your readers a chance to check it out. You will probably be an affiliate of theirs, so you'll get some kind of commission for doing this. This is pretty much a reversal of roles in the idea above.

But this does more than earn you some commission; it makes people think that you must be pretty important to be able to talk with this person on the phone. They're going to open the email because they already know this person or their products and they want to hear from them directly. So they'll sign up for free to hear the interview, probably get pitched a product, but will also get a lot of good free information from the interview.

So you're helping your partner out but you're already leveraging your level of trust off of this person's name and products. Plus, you just hooked them up with some quality free information! Now people on your email list will want to check out more of your emails just incase there is even more good content that they can't bear to miss out on.

These are proven methods to get people to open almost all of your emails and clickthrough your links like crazy! When you "brand" your emails and get some good JV partners you can skyrocket to success a lot quicker through your email marketing campaign. You can now be confident that more people will open your emails and buy from you.

Hi Ben, I loved your third point the most, which is called "piggy-backing" in internet marketing circles.

With these points one can add some bite into their ezines because people are becoming wary of emails sent every now and then, resulting in a litter for their mailbox and in a bid to clear the clutter, wont hesitate in deleting the message, meaning that most email marketing efforts end of hitting the trash can.

One other thing Ben, is also using a good subject, I immediately proceed to the delete buttons when I see those generic offers with a generic subject.

Thanks Ben for your insight as always

That's very true chinemeremz, people need something fresh and new in their inbox from time to time and things like an teleseminar or webinar help raise the value of the content, while introducing them to other people higher up in the industry.

And YES, people definitely need to work on their email subjects! Get people to want to open your email just by glancing at your subject... make them curious, make them feel like they're going to miss out if they don't open it up.

It's always good to have you as a reader!
