Earn Extra Money from Home with Google AdSense
76If you're curious how people earn extra money from home with Google AdSense then you need to read this.
I'm about to show you why keywords are what matter most and how you can select the best keywords.
By the end of this article you'll be able to pull in more money through AdSense than 80% of the people who try.
Popular Keywords
The first thing you need to realize is why keywords matter when dealing with Google AdSense. In order for Google to choose relevant ads for your page it has to scan the text and pull out keywords. That means that the words on your page are what trigger different ads to show up. So you don't want a ton of unrelated keywords on your page, you want keywords that are focused on your target topic. And you want to boost the density of at least one keyword so that Google knows your page is definitely about this topic and that it should mainly post ads that relate to that keyword. So what you'll be doing is popping the keyword that you come up with, from the tips in this article, on your page once every 30 to 50 words.
But your target keyword will do you no good if no one searches for it. You want to pull in steady traffic so you need to find a keyword that is searched for often each month. Go to Google's Keyword Tool and type in some basic phrases that relate to the topic you want to write on then organize the results by "local monthly searches". You want a keyword phrase that gets at the very least 1,000 searches a month. So go ahead and select the check mark next to all the keywords you think you might be interested in using that have at least 1,000 monthly searches.
The reason you're doing this is that you know by these statistics that people are looking for information using these keywords. That means that you will get traffic if you can rank high enough in the search engine results. And more traffic means more possible income through your AdSense ads.
Low Competition Keywords
This next step is REALLY going to make it easy for you to earn extra money from home with AdSense because you don't have to work as hard. Why? Because you're going to choose a keyword that doesn't have a lot of competition. And the keyword tool that you used in the last step makes it easy to figure out the level of advertiser competition for a keyword.
So look at all the keywords that you selected in the last step and look just to the right of them at the "competition" column. This shows you how many people are paying to advertise with that keyword, and it can sometimes be a good indicator as to how much SEO competition you'll have as well. What you're looking for is a bar that has almost no green in it at all. Generally speaking, the more green there is in the bar the harder it will be to rank for that keyword. If you hover your mouse over the bar it'll also tell you the level of competition.
And, to double-check things, search your keyword phrase between quotations marks like "this" on Google to see how many pages come up. This will give you an even better idea as to how many people are targeting that specific keyword or keyword phrase. You can even search your keyword phrase between brackets like [this] to see how many people are using the EXACT keyword phrase you're looking at. So go through your selected keywords and uncheck the ones that have too much competition.
The reason you're doing this is so that it's a bit easier for you to rank high with these keyword. It's hard to stand out when millions of people are using the same words, but if you can target a not so common phrase then it's easier for you to rise to the top and get the traffic you want.
Expensive Keywords
Now you're going to really boost your earning potential by selecting keywords that people pay a lot to advertise with. This will make all of the ads on your page worth more to you, with the same amount of effort. You don't want to skip this step!
So now that you've whittled your keywords down to a select few, it's time to choose your target keyword. Look to the right for the "approximate CPC" column. CPC stands for cost per click, which is how much advertisers will pay, on average, whenever someone clicks their ad. What you want to do is look at the remaining keywords you have selected and choose the one with the highest CPC. This is the keyword that advertisers bid the highest amount of money to use to trigger their ads.
The reason you're doing this is that you know an estimate as to how much that keyword is worth to advertisers. So if you put it all over your page and AdSense shows ads from people who bid on that keyword then you can assume that each and every click is going to be worth a lot of money. That's why it pays to use the free tools you are provided.
These are proven steps to help anyone earn extra money from home with Google AdSense. So choose keywords that are searched for often, have low competition and are worth a lot to advertisers. Now you can start earning your first paycheck from AdSense!

High CPC is key to making good money with AdSense. I make around $8/day from two blogs by choosing keywords with CPC of $2.50+.
Great hub!
Many ah - ah's, good info and easy to understand, thank you.
"Competition" is actually competition from advertisers who want to sponsor this keyword. Competition is not an indicator of how many times the keyword is used on web pages.
Nope. There are very narrow keywords such as "Huntington Beach Lawyer" that have extremely high per-click payouts but low competition because there are only so many lawyers in Huntington Beach. It's only fair to describe the Competition column for what it actually is, not what might be derived from it under some circumstances. That way, everyone can draw their own conclusions.
The proliferation of misinformation on SEO is overwhelming and needs to be filtered. Concepts such as Keyword Density, Page Rank, and backlinks are so poorly explained and downright lied-about that we need to be very careful about the information we are providing. There is much too much nonsense parroted by 'experts' simply to generate content to attract search engines.
Google Adsense is really tough these days and we need to research high paying keywords for it
