17 of The Best Modern Day Artists - Part 3
72<< Part 2 <<
This is the final blog in the series to show you who I think are some of the best modern day artists today.
As you already know, I keep the names in alphabetical order so that you don't assume that I'm playing favorites. Let's get right into it.
Jax Pixeloo
Jax Pixeloo is an American Photoshop artist that is known for taking popular cartoons and bringing them to life through his art.
You can see what I mean in the picture below on the right. That's one freaky looking plumber isn't it?
He does photo manipulation and illustration for a living, but tries to create his own art on the side for fun when he can.
Check out Pixeloo's Blog to keep up on what new art he's created.
Loren Kulesus
Loren Kulesus is an industrial designer from New York City that also dabbles in 3-D modeling.
The designs he comes up with are so unique that you're pretty much sold once you see it and wonder if you can purchase it yourself.
His designs are artistic but also quite functional.
I'd love to see all of his concepts actually be produced.
Could you imagine jamming with the guitar on the right?
Check out Loren's Portfolio to keep up on his crazy designs.
Naoto Hattori
Naoto Hattori is a painter, illustrator, and graphic designer that pops back and forth between New York and Tokyo.
He likes to take whatever is on his mind, whether good or bad, and turn it into art to become more aware of his consciousness.
He really does have a unique style but I think the oddity of his art is overcome by the softness of his style.
He seems to enjoy creating his own versions of the Mona Lisa.
I'll admit that some of his creations come out pretty creepy, but most of his art will make you laugh rather than have a nightmare.
At least he's willing to share what's on his mind.
Check out Naoto Hattori's Site to keep up on his creations and pick up some of his limited edition art in his store if you'd like.
Robert & Shana Parkeharrison
Robert and Shana Parkeharrison are a married couple from Massachusetts who produce some of the most interesting fine art photographs I've ever seen.
Yes they are two artists, but they are an artistic duo that works together; so I'm going to count them as one.
The photograph to the right was included in a book that was named one of the top 10 photography books in 2000 by the New York Times.
Their photography will truly make you stop and stare at it for a while as you try to realize what it is they're trying to show you with each image.
Head on over to the Parkeharrisons' Site to see more of what I'm talking about.
Stinkfish
Stinkfish is a graffiti artist from Colombia.
He's got such a unique style that's full of color and detail.
You can see from the picture on the right that he adds in detail where some might see it as unneeded, but you can't argue with that if his style pleases your eyes.
He likes to combine all of what he takes in through his senses and sprays it on a wall.
I'd be pretty sad if I saw someone paint over one of his works of art.
His art can make the ugliest of walls worth looking at again.
Head over to Stinkfish's Blog to see what new creations he's sprayed out lately.
Who's your favorite artist out of the last 5?
See results without votingThat's it; that's 17 of my favorite artists that I'm currently into.
My aim was to give you a handful of different artists with a variety of backgrounds, mediums and styles.
Hopefully I've opened your eyes to at least a little bit of new art.
I feel like, if I have the time to look at art then I have the time to share it with someone else.
Feel free to share any of your favorite modern day artists in the comment section below!
But WAIT, there's more...

Another well done article Bendo! Never knew of these, crazy art by Jax Pixeloo and I especially liked seeing the image of Hattori's work, really something else. Thank you for bringing this work to light for me and the rest of the planet!
He is awesome..check it.
Interesting collection of modern artists. Very well done!
woah!!!
I picked the married photographers. I love photography-wish I was better at it. I am not bad with a digital camera, but as for real film in a traditional camera, no I am not good at it.

Nice work, I know he's not real modern but I really like Norman Rockwell. Thanks.
